The Washington Parish Association of Retired Educators met this morning and announced their endorsement of the Taxing District 4 April 28th bond proposal. If approved by voters, this would fund the construction of a new Franklinton Jr. High School, additional classrooms at Pine High School, and additional classrooms and cafeteria space at Thomas Elementary School.

Budget Information

On September 14, 2017, the Washington Parish School Board met in a publicly-advertised (newspaper, district website, & bulletin boards) meeting to review, discuss, hear public input, and approve a 2017-18 operations budget. During this public meeting, the following topics were discussed in detail:
* Sources of revenue & expenses,
* Earmarks & mandates of specific funds,
* Necessity & purpose of a fund balance, and
* How the state incentivizes “local effort” through matching funds.
